Inert gases are used in a multitude of applications from Xenon in car headlights, to helium in cryogenic detectors and argon in welding and vacuum furnace processing. In most instances the exhaust gas from these processes is contaminated at the 1,000s of ppm level making cost effective recycle impossible using conventional technologies in all but a select group of applications.
